Terms of Service
These terms are an agreement between you and Soritok, operated by Sam Kirby in Australia ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Soritok iOS app you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
1. The service
Soritok helps you learn Korean through short clips from publicly available YouTube videos, with transcripts, dictionary entries, romanisation, grammar notes and spaced-repetition review. We work hard on accuracy, but transcripts, translations and explanations are generated partly by automated systems and may contain mistakes. Use them as a learning aid, not as an authoritative reference.
2. Your account
You must be at least 13 years old. Keep your password private and tell us if you think someone else is using your account. You are responsible for activity under your account.
3. Subscriptions
- Some features require a Soritok Pro subscription, offered monthly or yearly. Prices are shown in the app before you buy.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel in your iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
- If a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under App Store terms. We cannot issue refunds directly.
- We may change prices for future periods; you will be told in advance and can cancel before the change takes effect.
4. Video content
Clips are played through YouTube's official embedded player and remain the property of their creators. We do not host, copy or download the videos. Availability depends on the creator and on YouTube; a clip may stop working if the source video is removed. If you are a creator and want your videos excluded, email us and we will remove them.
5. Acceptable use
Do not attempt to copy, scrape or resell the app's transcripts, dictionary data or other content; interfere with the service or other users; or use the app for anything unlawful.
5a. Feedback
Feedback you send in the app is a private message to us. It is not shown to other learners, and we reply to you in the app. Keep it lawful and do not send anyone else's personal information. We may remove messages or suspend accounts that break these rules. To reach us about anything you have sent, email samexperiments247@gmail.com.
6. Your content
You own what you write in the app, such as feedback messages. You give us permission to use it to improve the service. Your saved words and progress are yours and can be exported at any time.
7. Ending the agreement
You can delete your account in the app at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. Ending your account does not refund any subscription period already paid, except as Apple's terms provide.
8. Disclaimers and liability
The app is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we exclude all warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other laws that cannot be excluded. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to re-supplying the service or refunding what you paid for it in the previous 12 months.
9. Apple
These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide support for the app and is not responsible for any claims about it. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these terms and may enforce them against you.
10. Changes and contact
We may update these terms; material changes will be shown in the app. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it. Questions: samexperiments247@gmail.com. These terms are governed by the laws of Australia.
